With over 15 years as a clinical social worker (since 2007), I specialize in complex trauma from early childhood abuse/neglect, anxiety, and depression, increasingly integrating the powerful link between mental and physical health and the systemic impacts of oppression. Areas of deep interest include perfectionism, people-pleasing, and parenting. Outside of work, I find joy exploring nature with loved-ones and cooking. Utah, Washington, and California are my homes; college in Utah, my 20s/30s in Seattle, and Northern California now, after trading Seattle winters for milder weather.
Welcome.
Pain and suffering in life is often caused by feeling stuck. Stuck in old patterns that don’t serve you, stuck in relationship dynamics that just repeat and repeat, stuck in worries that keep you from focusing and sleeping or stuck under the weight of sadness or grief that you can’t shake off. Traumatic events can also cause us to feel stuck in memories and emotions from the past intruding on our present.
With over 15 years of experience, I love helping people get unstuck. I can bring skillful support to help yield the change you seek. I believe that everyone has the keys to unlocking themselves from within. However, that doesn’t mean you are on your own. A collaborative, therapeutic relationship can cultivate, restore and strengthen the connection to your own inner wisdom, bringing freedom and greater ease into your life.
Who I see:
I work with adults who are navigating a variety of issues including trauma, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, life transitions, sexuality, and relationship challenges. I am LGBTQ affirming and committed to making a safe space for all gender identities.
In Session:
I am a collaborative therapist who strives to foster a connection built on safety, non-judgement and inclusion. Clients have described me as both compassionate and assertive in my approach, balancing nurturing and caring with the ability to confront barriers blocking change and growth. I take a holistic approach and integrate mindfulness, and somatic (body awareness) therapies. I am trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and EMDR (see resource page for more information). Whether you are new to therapy or have been before, seeking therapy can take courage. It’s important to find someone who is a good fit so schedule a free consultation today.
